Habitat For Humanity: ReStore

ReStore The store provides a source of reasonably priced new and gently used home improvement items, some large and small working appliances, office furniture and equipment, etc.

Volunteers are always needed to work restocking shelves, pricing items, picking up donations, and answering the phone. Volunteers are also needed for routine housekeeping of the store. We request that you volunteer for at least a 4 hour shift on a recurring basis so you'll be familiar with our store layout and procedures; however, we have flexibility to meet your schedule.

Our Values & Mission Statement

Paducah-McCracken County Habitat for Humanity builds homes and strengthens families and communities. A Habitat house is simple, decent, and affordable. It is small, low maintenance, and energy efficient. There are no frills—no basement, no garage, and no more than one full bathroom.

Habitat is not a handout. To qualify, partner families must pay a down payment, participate in homeowner education classes, and work at least 500 hours of sweat equity. Then they re-pay a 20 year, no interest mortgage, which goes back into our building program to build more homes.

Even though we're affiliated with the International Habitat organization, we must raise all our money locally. We use efficient business practices to coordinate volunteer labor with donations of money and materials. Our Habitat ReStore raises a significant amount of money for building. Our goal is to eliminate poverty housing in Paducah-McCracken County. We need your help to accomplish our goal. Please join us!
